1

Eligibility and verification

To accept bookings you must complete identity verification (KYC). This keeps payments secure and ensures payouts reach the right party.

  • A legal-entity kennitala: personal, sole trader or limited company. The kennitala is validated against the official checksum scheme.
  • Identity verification and an Icelandic bank account for payouts, through a secure payment provider.
  • VAT-registration status and number where applicable. You can start without VAT registration and add it later.
2

Listing rules

Every venue is listed with clear information so guests know exactly what they are booking.

  • Type and occasion. Celebration, party, meeting or country venue, plus the occasions it suits.
  • Size and amenities. Guest capacity, what is included and permitted activity (alcohol, music after 22:00, children, smoking).
  • Location. The venue's region and address.
  • At least 5 photos. The first photo is the cover. The venue does not appear until the photo requirement is met.

Pricing is always per block and includes VAT. Four blocks (morning, afternoon, evening and full day) plus an optional weekend uplift. There is no single day rate.

Cancellation terms

One universal cancellation policy applies to every venue on Salabókun. The guest's refund depends on how long before the event the booking is cancelled.

Guest refund
Host share
More than 30 days before
The total minus the booking fee (10%, minimum ISK 2,000)
No payout

No refund
Standard split, 87.6% of the total
  • The booking fee and Salabókun's service fee are non-refundable; Salabókun's share is never below ISK 2,000.

  • If the host cancels a confirmed booking, the guest is refunded in full regardless of the policy and the date is closed going forward. Each host cancellation is recorded as a strike; repeated cancellations lead to review and may result in suspension or removal from Salabókun. There is no cash penalty.

  • Additional refunds beyond the policy are only possible with the approval of Salabókun support.

5

Conduct and communication

  • All communication happens on Salabókun. Sharing contact details off-platform before a booking is not permitted and can be reported.
  • Messages are retained as evidence in the event of a dispute.
  • Reviews are two-sided and only after the event. Neither guest nor host can leave a review without a confirmed booking.
6

Calendar connection

  • If you connect an external calendar, it becomes the authoritative source of the venue's availability.
  • Events in the external calendar block the corresponding blocks automatically.
  • If a conflict with a confirmed booking arises, it enters a conflict state you resolve manually. Nothing is cancelled automatically.
7

Payments and VAT
